Hudson Clearwater you are SO good. I spontaneously went to dinner here with Dave last night. You enter through the back courtyard (hello summer) and the decor and vibe is amazing. So cute, romantic, cool. I ordered the Calacas cocktail, which has jalapeno tequila, beet, lime, agave, chili-himalayan salt. I must have glazed over beet or thought it would be a touch, because if I knew it would be beet juice with a touch of tequila I would not have ordered. oops! It reminded me 100% of the juice cleanse and I could barely swallow a sip so I sent it back for a gin gimlet. Only NY and LA would understand the bad traumatizing affects of a juice cleanse and swap your cocktail.
We shared the special scallop appetizer. to.die.for. I got the Crispy Duck Breast with sauteed swiss chard, butternut squash and onion jam. Onion jam was legit. It was so tasty. Wasn’t the hugest fan of the butternut squash though. Dave got the Spice-Rubbed Pork Tenderloin with roasted mushrooms, cannellini beans, house-cured bacon, watercress. Delish. Very citrusy. Next time I want to Atlantic Black Sea Bass with smashed rutabaga, russel sprouts, apple-radish salad and almond pesto. Or the Farro Risotto with roasted squash, winter greens, parmesan, sunchoke chips, pomegranate. YUM.
Shared brussels which have caramel in it! So interesante. Got the Lemon Bar for dessert came with graham crust, fig compote and lemon creme fraiche. yummmmmmmmmmmm
Totally unexpected huge dinner but so worth it.
Early dinner = early bed time. Watched the bach in bed then slept at 9:45pm WOOHOO go me. This am got up at 6 to do 3 miles. 1 warm up, 1 mile at race pace (whatever that means) and 1 cool down mile. Looked something like.. 9:18, 8:40, 8:50 or something. Look at me slowing down. Will I ever speed up again I do not know. I also think I need compression socks. I’m running 7 miles Saturday. eek. I’ve never run more than 6! I think I’ll head to the park since the half marathon is in the park. I should practice those deadly hills.
Enjoy the possibly rainy day. I’m honestly in the CA mindset where the weather report says rain but you never believe it because it never does. Umbrella? Nah. But 80% rain probably means… rain. ciao!
