I had a draft started titled “You’re telling me the weekend is over” but for now I’ll talk about running and my love for Jay-Z.
My current half marathon training schedule is run tues/thurs mornings and a longer run on Saturday. I guess you can do an easy run on Sundays but that’s just not going to happen. I also have to squeeze in swimming and things I really enjoy like spinning and yoga!! And force myself to take a rest day. Week two is going great so far. Although I’m tired. I do love running in the mornings. I’m trying to slow down a bit because I think that’s what you are supposed to do while training? Anyway I thought I was slowing down and ran a 9 min mile. Then I purposefully sped up and ran a 8:20 mile (!! what?) then “cooled down” with an 8:45 mile. sooooo maybe I’ll run a little slower tomorrow. Or maybe this is good? I really have no clue and don’t understand training. All I know is I MUST take one rest day a week. FIIINNNEEEEE. But look how pretty the morning was!! It wasn’t pitch black at 6:30am and that made me very very happy.
In HAPPIER news I saw Jay-Z at Carnegie Hall last night with CJ and Michelle and.it.was.unreal. I was trying to think of a better word to use than “awesome” or “amazing” and my first thought was “that concert was SICK” haha gangster? I know. I know I am. However, not as gangster as the entire back balcony. The group surrounding us knew every word and it was awesome/hilarious. The orchestra seats that cost approx $15,000 were filled with individuals dressed to IMPRESS in black tie. I wore my painting pants and converse.
Jay-Z is such a legend. Every song is a hit and he’s just so good. The lights and visuals were so cool and I thought it was a great show. And I had another I live in NY, NY is awesome, this event is so cool moment.
I do <3 NY.
